Dr. Rob Gegaer - Backyard Landscapes that Support Native Pollinators

Talk Tonight and Walk on Saturday - Dr. Rob Gegaer from UMass Dartmouth

The CGCC and the CGC are helping sponsor a Zoom presentation by Dr. Rob Gegaer followed by walks on Saturday at the Holly Hill farm in Cohasset (sorry, these walks are all booked). Dr. Rob Gegear is Assistant Professor of Biology at UMass Dartmouth who studies native bumblebees. He has been partnering with the farm’s Conservation and Stewardship Director, Jasmin Callahan to create some curriculum materials for high school aged students and is working on projects to help educate our community about the importance of providing habitat for threatened species of pollinators. His work is complicated and fascinating.

The Zoom will be recorded and we'll put that on the farm’s youtube channel later in July. Jasmin Callahan will be leading more walks throughout the season to teach people some of the same hands on bee identification techniques but Dr. Gegear will be with us only on July 17th.

REGISTRATION - limited spaces available for the in-person workshop at https://hollyhillfarm.org/events
